Tips for visiting Stonehenge from Salisbury

.Book your English Heritage entry ticket before you sort transport. Tickets sell out weeks in advance in summer and must be pre-booked at english-heritage.org.uk.
.Allow at least 2 hours at the site. The visitor centre exhibition takes 45 minutes, plus the internal shuttle ride and time at the stones themselves.
.The 10:05 shuttle departure is the best for avoiding peak crowds. You arrive as the site opens before large coach tours begin arriving.
.Stonehenge parking must be pre-booked at £18 per car. In peak season it fills by mid-morning. The shuttle avoids this completely.
.Salisbury Cathedral is 10 minutes from the station and is worth a visit before or after Stonehenge. The 1215 Magna Carta is displayed inside.
