Longleat Safari & Adventure Park is one of the most popular family attractions in southern England — and one of the best day trips from Salisbury, just 30 minutes by car. Longleat was Britain's first drive-through safari park, opening in 1966, and remains one of the finest — home to lions, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, wolves and many more animals roaming in large enclosures.
Beyond the safari drive (which takes 1–2 hours), the estate includes a maze, adventure playgrounds, boat rides on the lake, a narrow gauge railway, the hedge maze (one of the largest in the world), and the spectacular Longleat House — a Tudor stately home with state rooms open to visitors.
Longleat is an all-day experience — most families spend 5–7 hours on site. From Salisbury, take the A36 north to Warminster. Tickets are significantly cheaper when booked online in advance.
